In their final match, Stevie Campbell's ultra young side found their Paisley hosts just too strong for them, suffering their heaviest defeat of the season.
Although finishing on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline, it was only in the last quarter of the game that the tiring Tangerines, which included six lads who had been at school all day, conceded all the goals.
There wasn't that much in it in the first half, although it took a double goal-line clearance by Ryan Lundie to ensure they went in level at the break. Saints finally made the breakthrough after 66 minutes when Ross Meechan was tripped in the box and Declan Hughes hammered home the penalty.
The hosts only got their second seven minutes from time and it followed a quick break following a United corner.Jack Smith sped down the right before delivering a cross which Anton Brady tucked away at the far post. Two minutes later a near identical move brought Saints a third, Smith setting up substitute Jon Scullion. A minute later, Smith was brought down by Lundie as he went through for a second Saints penalty. But this time, Anderson blocked Hughes' effort. However, it was only a temporary reprieve. From the corner swung over by Scullion, Jordan Stewart knocked in the fourth at the near post.
