RYAN DOW SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

20th October 2011

Ryan Dow has signed a two-year contract extension, securing him to the Club until May 2014. The 20-year-old made his first team debut against Rangers at Tannadice at the tail end of the 2009-10 season and scored his first goal for the team in the recent Scottish Communities League Cup tie against Airdrie United.

Manager Peter Houston said, "It was important for the Club to have secured Ryan. Although still young, he has played a part in the first team squad this season and young, hungry players like Ryan are very much the future of our football club. If he keeps learning his trade in the manner he already does, he will be a fixture in the first team here at Dundee United for many seasons. When he has the ball at his feet, he has the ability to excite the fans and punish opposition teams and he gives us a different option to the other attacking players at the Club."
