GRAND OPENING CONFIRMED

9th September 2011

The Club are delighted to announce that the grand opening of the Jim McLean Fair Play Stand will take place on Saturday 17th September when United are at home to Inverness CT. The Club have reduced prices for the game and the Jim McLean Fair Play Stand will be open to home supporters only for this occasion. Away supporters will be housed within the Jerry Kerr Stand for this game.
Jim McLean will be in attendance at the game and a special presentation will be made during the half time interval.

Various special events are planned for the day as the Club seek to make this a Gala Day at which United fans can come along and pay tribute to our greatest ever manager.

Chairman Stephen Thompson said "During Jim McLean's time as manager, he was always aware of the fans' relationship with the Club and one of the proudest occasions for him as manager was when the Club were rewarded for the behaviour and sportsmanship of their fans at the UEFA Cup Final in 1987. The Fair Play Award gave McLean incredible satisfaction and when the Club spoke to him about honouring his involvement at the Club with the renaming of a stand, it was Jim himself who decided that he would like the Fair Play Stand named after him. This stand was built during the McLean era and the renaming of the stand to the 'Jim McLean Fair Play Stand' continues the strong link between Jim and the fans. I hope as many as possible come along on Saturday to pay tribute to our greatest ever manager."

Cash turnstiles will be in operation and whilst season ticket holders will be admitted to the Jim McLean Fair Play Stand, entry will be limited to the first 300. Prices will be £15 and £13 for adults and £6 and £5 for concessions in all stands.
