HAMILTON MATCH UPDATE

23rd December 2010

DUFC Officials and Tayside Police met today to assess the possibility of the Boxing Day match against Hamilton at Tannadice Park going ahead. The ground and surrounding streets were inspected and significant improvements in the condition of both were noted. Both the Club and Tayside Police are now very hopeful that the match can beat the weather, however supporters should take care when making their way to the stadium.

Anyone attending the game should be aware that underfoot conditions in the immediate vicinity of Tannadice have seen a huge improvement in recent days, but are still not ideal. Work is ongoing to clear as much snow and ice from the roadways and footpaths as possible but care will be required in some areas. Conditions in streets a little further away from the ground remain difficult and slipping remains a real risk.

On-street parking in the area is severely limited due to the snow and ice and fans are encouraged to use public transport to get to the ground. If you must travel by car, leave plently of time to find a parking space and car sharing is encouraged wherever possible.

Despite the undersoil heating being on at full, there are particles of ice on the pitch and covers have been put on the pitch as a precaution. With temperatures as low as forecast we are keeping a close watch on the situation.
