Dundee and Dundee United are delighted to announce that the forthcoming derby will be sponsored by J & E Shepherd, one of Scotland leading firms of Chartered Surveyors, whose head office is based in Dundee. A generous five figure sum has been pledged to the fund raising efforts of both clubs in the City.
Each team will wear the Shepherd's logo with the kind permission of their existing shirt sponsors.
J & E Shepherd have 31 offices in Scotland and have several offices in England & Wales. The firm is regarded as the biggest of its type in the property market in Scotland and the natural choice for Home Reports.
A spokesman for J & E Shepherd said, "Despite our UK wide profile, we pride ourselves on having both a local knowledge and presence in Dundee and are very much a part of the local community with our head office based in the City. We can therefore fully relate to the valuable role that both football clubs play in the community and the contribution they make to the local economy and social fabric of the City.
We are therefore delighted to be associated with this match and wish both clubs success in their quite different, but equally important, objectives."
In addition, Dundee United's shirt sponsor, Calor, has generously offered to donate the sum of £100 for each goal scored in the eagerly awaited derby match.
