Without four key players - Ross Smith, Stuart Armstrong, Liam Scott and Jordan Elverson - it was always going to be a big ask to beat a strong Hearts side at Tynecastle and so it proved in this third round clash of the SFA Youth Cup.
On top of that goalkeeper Marc McCallum and defender Davie Shaw, who had to play as an emergency striker, were under the weather with heavy colds.
In truth, Stevie Campbell's side were grateful to only go in one down at the break to a goal scored by Robert Ogleby with a toe poke after 25 minutes.
But the Tynecastle striker went on to complete his hat-trick after the break
Apart from a decent spell at the start of the second half when Shance Campbell and Davie Shaw went close, that was the sum of the young Tangerones resistance.
