It was a disappointing Sunday afternoon for Stevie Campbell's team who provided the opposition for the joint testimonials of Canniepairt stalwarts Fraser Fitzpatrick and Derek Wemyss.
Indeed, the two beneficiaries played a major part in the downfall of the United youngsters.
Wemyss in fact put 'Port ahead midway through the first half after a good start by the Junior side.
But the Tannadice boys then took control with Robert Thomson twice missing good chances.
Unfortunately, Fitzpatrick still wasn't duly tested, but he did keep out a Liam Scott shot with his feet to prevent an equaliser.
But with about twelve minutes left, guest Birdie Craik - now with Broughty Athletic - sealed it, strongly side-footing home from around the penalty spot.
Afterwards, a disappointed Stevie Campbell said, "We were slow out of the traps and certainly got back into the game but without reaching anywhere near the high standards expected!"
