Dundee United today revealed the new home kit for the centenary season 2009/10, the first season in a four year kit supply deal with Nike. The deal also includes selling Nike merchandise through the Club Shop, which will now be operated by Nike UK's professional football club service provider Just Sport Pro Club.
The new kit, modelled by first team players David Robertson and Scott Robertson, reflects the high standard expected from such a world-wide brand as Nike and is a return to the Club's traditional tangerine with a very clean cut design. The kit also features the exclusive centenary logo club badge for next season, which has been embroidered in the traditional way.
The shirt is constructed from Nike's innovative Dri-Fit fabric, which keeps players drier, cooler and lighter by drawing sweat from the body to the fabric's surface, while its mesh back panel provides optimum ventilation rapidly moving moisture away from the body.
Keith Haggart ,Sales Executive, Dundee United said, "We are delighted with what we expect to become another iconic Dundee United kit, and hope to see sales that reflect that from our launch this Friday. "
Michael Heslop, Business Development Director for Just Sport Pro Club, said "We are delighted to be working with Dundee United and look forward to introducing a wide range of Nike merchandise into the Club Shop. I am sure the supporters will be happy to see the Dundee United centenary badge alongside the world famous Nike Swoosh."
The new kit will be available from 11am on Friday 19 June, when the Club Shop and on line facility will be formally re-launched under the auspices of Nike UK's professional football club service provider Just Sport Pro Club. Adult shirts will retail at £40.
Please note that the Club Shop will now be closed until Friday 19 June, 11am to allow a complete Nike re-fit to be completed.
