Dundee United today completed the loan signings of Paul Caddis (Celtic) and, subject to international clearance, James Wesolowski (Leicester City) until the end of the season. It was also confirmed that Johnny Russell and Kevin Smith had returned on loan to Forfar and Raith Rovers respectively for the rest of the season.
21 year old Australian James Wesolowski arrived at Leicester from Northern Spirit in 2002 and played for Australia in the FIFA World Youth Championships, before making his first team debut in a pre season match against Celtic in July 2005. A tough tackling midfielder, his first team opportunities have been curtailed by two leg fractures. Nevertheless, he has made 54 first team appearances for Leicester and is highly regarded by Manager Craig Levein, who knows him from his time in charge at Walkers Stadium. International clearance has been applied for.
Paul Caddis is a right sided defender who can also play in midfield. The 20 year old Scotland U21 player signed professional forms for Celtic in July 2006 and has made a total of 10 first team appearances, including making a Champions League debut against Barcelona at the age of 19.
