LEE WILKIE SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

8th January 2009

Dundee United today confirmed that club captain Lee Wilkie had signed a three year extension to his current contract, securing him to the Club until May 2012.

Lee joined the Club at the start of season 2006/2007, initially as a trialist, following three serious knee injuries and being released by neighbours Dundee. After working hard to prove his match fitness, he was awarded a permanent contract in October 2007 and in January 2008 he was appointed club captain by Manager Craig Levein.

Lee has now played over 80 games since joining Dundee United and is a hugely influential and important player for the Club. His commitment to Dundee United for a further three years is another positive move for the Club.

Discussions with other out of contract players continue and it is hoped that further announcements might be made next week.
