Three goals in a blistering twenty-minute spell in the second half for Dundee United were enough to give the visitors their second consecutive away win, as they ran out 3-1 winners at the Caledonian Stadium.
After Garry Kenneth came close to opening the scoring in the first few minutes, a lacklustre first half saw United muster up just one other real threat on Ryan Esson's goal, but Jon Daly's 16-yard effort was blasted well over the bar.
Inverness enjoyed the better of any clear cut chances in the opening forty-five, with Iain Vigures and Andy Barrowman coming close for the home side.
Vigurs zipped a 30-yard drive wide of Zaluska's left-hand post, before a curling effort from Barrowman again failed to test the keeper as it was wide of the mark.
Barrowman came close to grabbing his 99th career goal moments later after Dougie Imrie flicked the ball over the United defence to find the striker in space inside the box, but he lobbed the ball over the bar.
The visitors would have been the slightly more relieved of the two sides to enter the break at nil-nil, but it was a resurgent United who took to the field after the restart.
And it took just five minutes for Daly to grab his eighth of the season after Swanson whipped a free-kick into his path, which he powered past Ryan Esson.
Craig Conway riffled home the second of the afternoon, and his second of the season, on the hour mark after a great piece of attacking play from the visitors. Paul Dixon started the move on the left flank, breaking to the by-line before steering his cross into the path of Daly.
The big Irishman headed across goal and, as Inverness failed to clear their lines, Scott Robertson sent the ball back into the path of Daly, who turned provider, knocking the ball into the path of the waiting Conway, who turned inside the box before lashing the ball home.
And on 71 minutes David Robertson put the game beyond Inverness when he nodded home from close range from Swanson's corner.
Substitute Adam Rooney grabbed one back for Inverness, but it was little more than a consolation after he stroked home Cowie's low drive into the
box.
