A goal in each half saw the Reserves deservedly take all three points today.
If there wasn't much between the teams in the first half United were by far the smarter side in the second, and the winning margin could easily have been greater. Indeed, there were very few chances in the first half but United did make the break-through on twenty five minutes.
Ryan McCord threaded a through ball to David Goodwillie and from his cut back Andis Shala side-footed home from six yards.
Starting the second half very brightly, United continued in that vein creating several chances, but the nearest they came to scoring was when Shala hit the post with a header.
However, with fifteen minutes left United got a deserved second when a diagonal ball was chased by Goodwillie who out muscled Andrew Considine and regained his footing in time to slide the ball home from eight yards.
Thereafter, the visitors charged forward, leaving themselves open at the back and only taking the wrong options prevented United adding a couple more.
