CRAIG CONWAY SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

8th September 2008

The player joined Dundee United in June 2006 from Ayr United and became a first team regular after Manager Craig Levein took charge in November of that year. A number of injuries have restricted his appearances since then, but the player is now fully recovered and is ready to play a vital part in Dundee United's future.

Manager Craig Levein said, "I consider a fit Craig Conway to be a real asset to the team and he has an important role to play in the side. He adds width and pace to either flank and has a good delivery, both from open play and from dead ball situations. These are important attributes for any team, but especially for us as I believe we now have a number of quality strikers at the Club who will be able to take real advantage of good deliveries into the box from wide positions. Although Craig is still a little short of match fitness, his brief appearances in the last few games have shown that he can be effective for us and very influential in the way that we play.

He's been dreadfully unlucky with injuries during my time at Tannadice but has worked hard to recover fully from them and I'm delighted that he has committed a further two years to Dundee United."

Craig Conway said, "I'm delighted at the faith shown in me by the Manager and to have my immediate future secured. This is a great place to be, especially with the number of quality additions made to the squad over the summer."
