First half profligacy when they were well on top cost the young Tangerines dearly at Rutherglen Glencairn today as they lost their opening league fixture.
Dominating the first half, a combination of poor finishing and several fine saves by home keeper Steven hall meant it was goalless at the break.
Ryan Dow missed the best chance of the opening period, hoisting the ball over the bar after being put through by Scott Allan.
In addition to keeping out efforts from Allan and Russell, Hall was quickly off his line to thwart several one-on-one situations.
Having rarely threatened, Accies sneaked in front twelve minutes into the second when a deflected free-kick beat visiting keeper Bryn Hindley all ends up.
Thereafter, the Tannadice teenagers huffed and puffed, though injuries to their three most influential players hardly helped.
