DUNDEE UNITED LAUNCHES NEW KIT SPONSOR

13th June 2008

Dundee United today launched a new kit sponsorship deal with the UK's leading sports fashion retailer, JD Sports.

The arrangement will see Dundee United's kit carry the logo of one JD's exclusive youth fashion brands, Carbrini Sportswear, on all home and away and replica tops. JD Sports will also become the Club's shorts sponsor.

Dundee United Chief Executive Stephen Thompson said, "We are delighted to announce this new sponsorship deal and to be associated with such an established name in sports fashion retail. Our current deal expired at the end of the season and following detailed discussion with several parties, we were delighted to secure an early commitment from JD Sports."

Barry Bown, Chief Executive of JD Sports commented: "We are very pleased to be sponsoring Dundee United for the forthcoming season. The deal is a significant step in developing the JD Sports and Carbrini Sportswear brands in Scotland and we'll be working very closely with the club to make the partnership a success."

Also revealed today were the new home and away strips for next season, modelled by Craig Conway and Scott Robertson.

With effect from today, supporters can pre-order the new kit, via the Club Shop, Dundee United Direct, or online. The home kit will be on sale from 21 July and deliveries of the away kit are expected around the same time.
