RESERVES DEFEATED BY CELTIC

8th May 2008

New Broomfield was the venue as a very strong Celtic side steam-rollered their way to a victory to keep their Reserve League title ambitions on track.

In the searing heat, the very young Tannadice team toiled terribly against vastly more experienced opponents.

Whilst United effectively had virtually no first team experience, by contrast Celtic bristled with it including Paul Caddis, Jean-Joel Perrier-Doumbe, Darren O'Dea, Evander Sno, Scott Brown and Chris Killen.

Koki Mizuno opened the floodgates with a stunning free-kick and doubles from Chris Killen and Darren O'Dea had Celtic cruising. Diarmuid O'Carroll rounded off the scoring five minutes from time with the only goal from open play, the rest coming from set pieces.

Despite the huge gulf, the Tangerines stuck manfully to their task and kept their shape and discipline, though understandably tired badly in the latter stages.
