A late flurry of goals saw Rangers edge even closer to the SPL Under 19 League title in a keenly contested match at Murray Park this afternoon.
Strikers Jordon Love and Johnny Russell proved to be a real handful for the Rangers' defence with both going close to opening the scoring though the honours were fairly even in the first period.
After the break Rangers started strongly but United responded and the result was on a knife edge until Shinnie scored with a powerful drive in 75minutes.
United came back strongly again and Johnny Russell should have equalised when through on the goalkeeper on the 80 minute . A minute later John Gibson an outstanding save from Cypriot full internationalist Giorgos Efrem but United's hopes were dashed when Phil McGrath was adjudged to have pushed Hutton in the box and John Fleck scored from the spot on the 85th minute .
With United driving forward and Johnny Russell hitting the bar Rangers broke away and Hutton added a third goal to give a completely false reflection of the afternoon's proceedings.
