The Tannadice teenagers wound up their season on a winning note with a comfortable win over Inverness Caley Thistle at North End Park.
In an explosive start United scored twice and could easily have been four up,
In addition to the two they did score, Ryan McCord, Jordan Love and Johnny Russell all missed great chances.
The opener came after only two minutes, Sean Anderson playing a one two with Love before firing into the bottom corner from just inside the box.
Johnny Russell set up the second, which was netted by Phil McGrath close in on 15 minutes.
The visitors clawed their way back into the game seven minutes from the interval when Shane Sutherland's header from a Daniel Park cross was blocked by United keeper John Gibson, only for the ball to rebound off the Caley striker into the net.
A third goal five minutes into the second half sealed the home side's victory, Russell robbing Jamie Duff just inside the visitors' half and running clear to score with a cool and composed finish.
Caley finished the game with ten men, Shane Sutherland being red-carded late on for a second bookable offence.
