The Tannadice youngsters shrugged off the disappointment of last Sunday's SFA Youth Cup semi-final exit in the best possible way with this emphatic win at North End Park.
If there was little to separate the teams in the opening half, there was a chasm between the pair after the interval as the Tangerine teenagers turned on the style.
It was the introduction of Jordan Love and Sean Anderson just after the hour mark that really saw the home lads really up the ante.
The goal that broke the deadlock came after 69 minutes was as deserved as it was excellent. Anderson played a one-two with Johnny Russell before squaring it for Jordan Love to side-foot home from inside the six-yard box.
A second goal was inevitable, and fittingly, came from the star of second half proceedings, Johnny Russell ten minutes later.
Picking the ball up on the left, he ghosted his was past two defenders to fire an angular drive into the far corner from 15-yards.
