Doubles from Ross McCord and Johnny Russell saw the young Tangerines march through to the semi-finals of the SFA Youth Cup at New Douglas Park today.
Dictating proceedings for most of the game, only a fine save at Johnny Russell's feet by Accies keeper Gavin McLachlan prevented the visitors taking a 16th minute lead.
The woodwork twice came to Accies rescue on the half hour mark.
From a free-kick just outside the box, Scott Paterson hit the post and as he latched on to the rebound, defender Phil McGrath did likewise!
Moments later, Ryan Dow had the ball in the Hamilton net, only to be adjudged offside.
That mounting pressure eventually told on 32 minutes when Johnny Russell headed the ball across the area to Ross McCord whose measured lob from 15-yards found the top corner.
Three goals early in the second half sealed Accies fate.
Scott Paterson diagonal cross found Ryan Dow and he clipped ball into middle of the six-yard box where both Russell and Ross McCord both went for it with the latter getting the first touch to bundle in his second seven minutes into the second half.
Ten minutes later, Jonny Russell made it three when his tremendous angled drive from 25-yards screamed into the far corner.
It was Russell again in the 65th minute when he met Dow's cross from left and though under pressure from a defender did well to head home the fourth at the back post.
Only a great point-blank save from McLachlan twelve minutes from time denied Ross McCord his hat-trick.
