The Tannadice teenagers turned in one of their best performances of the season to emphatically defeat their Tynecastle counterparts at Glenesk on Saturday morning.
A great finish from Johnny Russell to head home from close range put the young Tangerines in front after fifteen minutes.
And it was no surprise when that lead was extended on the half hour.
Ryan Dow played Russell in and, although his shot was blocked by the keeper, the ball broke back to Dow who finished with aplomb from 12 yards on the angle.
Although United didn't start the second half so well, the three points were secured after a Ryan McCord cross was headed back across the face of the goal by substitute John Boyle for Sean Anderson to net.
Dundee United: Gibson, Milligan, Fleming, McGrath, Pope, Ryan McCord, Ross McCord (W Russell 60), Anderson, J Russell (Elfverson 75), Allan, Dow (Boyle 60).
Subs not used: Burns, Shaw, Paterson, Colgan..
