LEE WILKIE NAMED PLAYER OF THE MONTH

11th November 2007

The announcement is another milestone in the career of the hugely popular centre half; a career which at one time had been threatened with a premature end due to serious injury.

Lee has battled back from injury to become a first team regular in Craig Levein's side, contributing to Dundee United's outstanding defensive record this season, particularly at home. During October, Dundee United conceded only three goals, all to dead ball situations - one free kick and two penalties. During this period Lee posed a threat in attack also, scoring against Rangers.

His displays have also caught the attention of Scotland boss Alex McLeish, with Lee originally named in the Scotland B squad before being withdrawn following discussions with the Club.
