MORGARO GOMIS SIGNS CONTRACT EXTENSION

18th September 2007

Dundee United today announced that Morgaro Gomis has signed a contract extension, securing him to the Club until May 2010.

The 22 year old midfielder joined the Club in January of this year on an initial contract until the end of this season, but his progress has been such that he has now been awarded a two year extension.

Manager Craig Levein said, "I signed Morgaro primarily as one for the future, especially given the step up to SPL football. However, I always felt that he had all the qualities to establish himself as a first team player sooner rather than later. He has adapted very quickly to the demands of the SPL and has impressed me with his attitude as well as his ability. I am delighted to have secured him for a further two years as I am sure he will continue to develop and improve at Tannadice and be a real asset to the team in the years ahead."

Morgaro Gomis added, "I am very happy at Dundee United and delighted to know that I will be here for the next few years. I feel very settled in Dundee and I'd like to thank everyone, including the supporters, for making me feel so welcome."
