Dundee United will subsidise travel for official supporters' club buses for the game against Gretna at Fir Park, Motherwell, on 22 September.
This follows discussions with the Federation of Dundee United Supporters' Clubs in view of the forthcoming sequence of away fixtures and the opportunity to provide good backing to the team in what otherwise could be a stadium lacking in atmosphere.
Federation Chairman Shug Falconer said, "We are delighted that Chairman Eddie Thompson has authorised this. This will allow many more Arabs to get behind the team on the day and hopefully provide much needed vocal encouragement at a fixture which, due to the unusual circumstances, won't have the normal SPL atmosphere. It's been a good start to the season so far and it's important to keep the momentum going."
The offer is open to all supporters' clubs affiliated to the Federation of Dundee United Supporters' Clubs and the usual arrangements apply in respect of membership fees and reimbursement of bus costs. All claims for subsidy must be authorised in advance by the Federation Committee. Clubs should contact Federation Committee members Scott Innes on 07956 648386 and Scott Foran at scott.foran@blueyonder.co.uk for further information and authorisation.
