There was disappointment for Stevie Campbell's side at Kilwinning Sports Centre on Saturday morning, as they had to settle for a draw in the opening league fixture of the season.
Leading thanks to a quite superb Chris Jeffrey strike after twenty minutes when he sent a shot raging into the top corner, victory was snatched from them two minutes from time.
What made this all the more disappointing was that the home side had played out the last half hour of the game with ten men after Kyle Wright had been sent off and had done most of the pressing.
And having held firm so that victory was within sight, all their efforts were undone when a cross from the left was headed home by Steve Noble.
Whilst pleased with the application, coach Stevie Campbell rated this a poor performance by the side.
Said Stevie, "I couldn't fault the lads for effort, but there was very little fluency to our play."
The team was (4-4-2):- Gibson, Mulligan, McMechan, O'Byrne, Pope, Gray, Mathieson, Fleming, Paterson, McCord, Jeffrey (S Russell 85).
Subs not used: Love, O'Hara, W Russell, Allan.
