At the end of the Early Bird period last Thursday, over 5000 season tickets had been sold, compared with 3400 at the end of the equivalent Early Bird period last year - an increase of 47%. Indeed, sales to date are already well ahead of the total sales for the whole of last year. With over 1000 existing season ticket holders still to renew, and a full four week period until the start of the season, the Club is confident that record sales will be seen.

Eddie Thompson said, "After the signing of Lee Miller I asked the fans to back our plans and, indeed, my ongoing support by purchasing a season ticket. I made the point that the Club needed their support to supplement my own involvement and we couldn't have received a more resounding demonstration of their backing. Dundee United fans have responded overwhelmingly to our season ticket offers and this will greatly assist our forward planning. I'd like to thank each and every one of them.

"There is a great feeling of 'togetherness' between the Club and the fans at present. The Cup Final was of course a real catalyst in this respect but I think fans do sense that we're all in this together and that it's up to all of us to work together and make sure our Club goes forward in the right way. Season ticket sales are of course a good indicator of this but I've also been delighted, although not surprised, by the wonderful response to the United for Kids appeal.
