This follows similar successful exercises in the past where free or subsidised travel encouraged a greater travelling support to back the team in important games.
As in the past, the scheme will be administered by the Federation of Dundee United Supporters' Clubs and all affiliated member clubs will be entitled to participate. All enquiries in respect of this offer should be made in the first instance to Joe Rice of the Federation on 07969 912526 and not to Dundee United. All participating clubs should receive confirmation from Joe Rice before making firm bookings with the relevant bus companies.
Supporters who are not members of an affiliated club will also be entitled to free travel on the buses, where places are available. Again, all enquiries should be made to Joe Rice or the local supporters' club representative as detailed in the club programme or Federation website.
Dundee United has also been in contact with Inverness Caledonian Thistle regarding the possibility of reducing gate prices for the game and, at this time, we are waiting to hear whether this might be possible. It should be understood that ICT cannot take this decision without consulting other parties but we are grateful for their ready co-operation in dealing with our request.
Dundee United director Derek Robertson said, "This type of travel scheme has proved very popular in the past and we hope that as many supporters as possible take advantage of it. Recent games have demonstrated how effective a large and vocal support can be and the players do appreciate and respond to this. We are also very aware that football must compete with other spending priorities at this time of year and hope that this small gesture helps."
