SCOTLAND’S GOAL SINKS ‘ WELL

29th March 2004

Not content with having scored his first goal for United in the midweek 3-2 win over Livingston, Jason Scotland doubled his season’s tally to date this afternoon to give the Tangerines another three home points and lift them into fifth position in the Bank of Scotland premierleague. Team Manager Ian McCall brought Barry Robson (pictured) back into the starting line-up with Jason Scotland on the substitutes’ bench. In a hard fought encounter, it took the introduction of Scotland to break the deadlock and his goal midway through the second half, some five minutes after coming on, was enough to continue United’s excellent recent home run that now stands at seven wins and two draws from United’s last nine matches at Tannadice Park. An excellent attendance of over seven and a half thousand were on hand to enjoy the occasion and with under 400 visiting fans watching the match, the large United support will hopefully return for the derby on Sunday 11th April at Tannadice Park.
