Dundee United today confirmed that Danny Griffin has been released from his contract by mutual consent.
He signed for United from St Johnstone in July 2000 but had to wait several months before making his first team debut which came on 23rd December 2000 against Hearts at Tynecastle in the SPL. His first goal for the Club was against Aberdeen in a 1-1 draw at Tannadice in March 2001. He netted four times in the League in a total of 77 appearances. He also played for United in six Scottish Cup ties and four League Cup matches and in the latter competition he scored once. His last game in the Tangerine of United came on 27th December 2003 when he came on as a sustitute against Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
