United today signed defender Chris Innes from Kilmarnock on a two-and-a-half-year deal. He began his career when he joined Stenhousemuir in August 1996 and in two years with the Stirlingshire club he made 40 appearances scoring twice.
He joined Kilmarnock in the summer of 1998 but in his first season he managed only four first team games and spent three months on loan to St Mirren where he played ten times.
The following year he was part of the first team squad more often but still played only seven times for his club and twice for Falkirk where he went on loan for a brief spell.
In season 2000-01 Chris made the break-through into the first team and since then has been a regular in the side. He totalled 89 appearances for the Ayrshire side and netted four times. Manager Ian McCall has been a long time admirer of the player and is delighted to have secures his services.
