The Safeway Under 21 international between Scotland and Austria,
originally scheduled to be played at Tannadice Park on 29 April will now be played at Dens Park Stadium, Dundee.
Following concerns raised about the condition of the Tannadice playing surface at the weekend, Dundee United officials met yesterday with the Scottish FA to discuss the match.
A spokesman for Dundee United said: "We are pleased that the game will still be played in the city. This means that all the other arrangements made by the Scottish FA for the match do not have to be changed and that football supporters in the area will still have the opportunity to go and support Scotland."
Eddie Thompson, Chairman of Dundee United, asked if the game could be
moved to allow United to carry out remedial work on the pitch and take some pressure off the playing surface in the short term, giving the Club more scope for the remaining SPL home fixtures.
The recent spell of extremely dry weather linked to frequent use of our undersoil heating caused the problem. This is now being fully
investigated. Additionally, we hope to move our Under 21 games away from Tannadice next season - giving additional protection to the playing surface."
