PAUL LOOKS FORWARD TO QUARTER FINAL TIE

Preparations for tomorrow's Quarter Final tie versus Livingston in the 2002-2003 CIS Insurance Cup were fully underway today at Tannadice following Sunday's clash with Celtic. In an interview, newly appointed Manager Paul Hegarty stated: "We were obviously disappointed with the result but the manner in which we lost speaks volumes; there was so much commitment, pride and passion from everyone concerned. We certainly gave Celtic a good run for their money, and although we are unhappy with the result, there were positives throughout the full ninety minutes. We're now looking forward to tomorrow in order to reverse our fortunes from the defeat against Livingston three weeks ago. We lost then even though we were two goals up until 20 minutes from time - the experience is still fresh in the players' memories. Hopefully they can use the lessons learnt tomorrow and take us one stage further and to a Semi-Finals against Celtic at Hampden next year. It is vital for a Club to do well in these Cup competitions and not just from a financial point of view. For the players it is crucial to get a good run as it boosts their confidence and clearly we owe it to our supporters to give our best in order to progress. Luckily, we have a clean bill of health, everybody came through the game unscathed -a few bumps and bruises on Monday, but that has all been dealt with."
