United fielded an experienced side for this evening's Under-21 match at Tannadice Park against Dunfermline and although the visitors also fielded a strong team, the Tangerines were 4-0 ahead within nineteen minutes. Goals from Ogunmade (5th), Smart (15th and 17th) and Carson (19th) gave United a whirlwind start. Jason Dair pulled one back for the East End Park side a minute after Carson had scored United's fourth and this stemmed the Tangerine tide, there being no further goals before the interval.
