Twenty-four hours before playing host to Partick Thistle, Coach Paul Hegarty was optimistic about the challenge ahead. In an interview on Friday afternoon, he maintained: "We are looking forward to the game and are hopeful of taking three points tomorrow. There is some good news on the selection side in that Charlie Miller (pictured) is fit after being injured versus Livingston last week, so he is in contention for a starting berth. There will be one or possibly two changes from the previous match. We are hopeful that the midfield and strikers perform as well as last week and expect a vast improvement from the defence - and I am sure we will get that tomorrow over the whole 90 minutes. Throughout the week, the players trained very well and their response and reaction was very encouraging and pleasing to watch."
